Things I'm Most Afraid Of

Everything. I'm afraid of everything. So is my son Evan. He's afraid of tube slides. Can't blame him really...they are like giant germ tunnels. Go in healthy, exit with the plague.

I had a different post created, because I was going to take a more serious approach to this post, but I just can't. Once I dive into those dark recesses of my head, the anxiety starts getting bad. So, for right now, I'm going to leave my deepest fears right where they belong. Far away from my present thoughts.

Here's a small list of things that scare me:

1. Shrimp- Ocean spiders that people eat? No. Not ever. That goes for all seafood too. Cows aren't creepy. But octopus? Lobsters? Giant crabs? That's terrifying. I don't want to be in the same zip code with it, let alone put it in my mouth.

2. Cruise Ships- They are on the ocean. And you're trapped with millions of people. Nope. Plus, I tend to get car sick, so going on a boat probably isn't the best idea for me.
3. The ocean- It's so deep. I'm scared of deep. And the stuff hidden in the deep.
4. Spiders- All of them. No matter their size.
5. Bugs that have more than 8 legs or no legs.
6. Ok...just all bugs in general.
7. Heights.
8. Planes, because of heights. And being trapped with people. Make one person sick and I'm on the floor shaking with an anxiety attack.

That about sums it up for me. My poor husband. He likes the ocean and enjoys eating seafood. But now he's stuck with Chicken Little.

  1. Bugs with more than 8 legs made me think of housecentipedes. Have you ever seen one of those things? They're really common in dorms and can get to be as big as a mouse and I just CAN'T with them.

    1. Yeah, we get those all over here! I just run away and hope for the best. I can't even face them. Way too terrifying!

  2. Spiders aargh! I wrote about the same thing. The plane thing....I love flying myself but know this is a big one for a lot of people. Do you still get to travel?

    1. Nope. I don't get to travel too often. I'm not a huge fan of going too far away.

  3. Bugs and spiders are definitely creepy. I don't mind the rest of the things though :)

  4. I love your description of tube slides! I might have to use that sometime!

I totally agree with you on the more than 6 legs thing! I can deal with most insects, maybe not buddy up with them, but they don't freak me out, but 8 legs or more, that's a whole nother ball of wax!

Now seafood, I love most all of that!

  5. I'm with you on almost all of these. I however, find cows extremely scary and I am actually petrified of them! I like eating some seafood, won't touch a muscle though ew. That photo is horrible and spiders? *Shudders*

  6. I had to laugh because I'm the opposite of most of these. I love heights, I love to fly, my favorite way to vacation is by cruise ship, and I love all things ocean, especially whales. But I do agree that that thing in the picture is creepy.

  7. I'm with you on all of them. Oceans and most things that come from the ocean. Except salmon. Love salmon. I also hate MRI machines. That's where I discovered I'm claustrophobic. You don't know if you are or not, until they slide you into one. Then all hell breaks loose. :-) Enjoy your blog. Became a follower during the a-z. Visit me, if you'd like:

I LOVE comments...except bad ones. You can keep the bad ones. Or maybe disguise them as nice ones. I know people that are really good at that.
